acatmeow19For anyone who’s never done an RPG with dice before, it can be super daunting at times to join one that uses this factor, but our dice system is fairly easy to use, and Admins are here to help if you have any issues.
Our system works as follows:
There are two things you have to watch out for: your Health Points (from here on out known as HP), and your Reality level. If your HP reaches 0, you’re dead. Depending on your Reality level, your character might find keeping a grip on reality extremely difficult if it drops too low.
Every character starts with an HP of 300 and an Reality level of 100. You’ll have plenty of chances to either lose or gain both HP and Reality as your characters deal with the monsters in the town. The way a loss or gain is determined is with dice.
You can lose HP in fights or by getting injured. The amount of HP you lose depends on the situation. For fighting, it will be based on the amount of damage a weapon inflicts.
Example: if you’re fighting someone and they have a knife with a maximum damage of 30, the dice roll for that would be 1d30. Whatever damage is rolled from that is the damage you take. So if someone rolled a 15 out of a max of 30, you would take 15 damage and therefore lose 15 HP.
HP can be gained on a daily basis. Everyday, HP will go up 50 points, regardless of what it was the previous day. Aside from that, first aid kits or items from said kits can get you some HP back as well. How much depends on what kind of first aid supplies you have. You could buy them from the store, but just note that once stuff at the store is sold out, it won’t be restocked again until the next day, and sometimes the same things that were there one day might not be there the next. Each IC day lasts one OOC week. There’s a whole other entry on the store though. Check out the link on the community profile.
Losing Reality usually happens when your character has seen something traumatic. Like, for example, a monster murdering their best friend. There’s two dice rolls to this. Anytime your character experiences something horrifying, they’ll have to do a reality check. This is a roll of 1d100. Anything 50 and above means they’ve succeeded their reality check, and don’t need to do a second roll for their damage. If they roll a 49 or lower, they need to roll 1d10 for damage, and lose that much Reality.
Anyone who has a Reality of 1-49 will have to roll a 1d100 everytime they want to do something brave like save their friends from being killed. Any number below 50 results in an automatic failure, in which your character is paralyzed with fear and succumbs to their past traumas. A roll of 50 and above is successful, and they now have the opportunity to gain Reality back. Just roll 1d10 to determine how much.
Your characters cannot have more than 100 Reality. If they reach 0 Reality, congratulations. Your character has officially gone insane. They can no longer do anything brave or heroic, but hey, huddling in corners and silently praying the monsters all just go away while crying doesn’t sound so bad. Right?
Hiding is also a thing you can do. Just roll a 1d100. 50 and above is successful and nothing horrible will find you. That time, at least.
As far as where to find dice? Just look for a 100 sided die online, or use a random number generator like one random.org
